2026年ネパール岩石・氷なだれおよび土石流・洪水災害：速報調査報告（2026 Nepal rock-ice avalanche, debris flow and flash flood: preliminary assessment）

このたび、農学生命科学部地域環境工学科の鄒青穎准教授らの研究グループは、2026年にネパールで発生した大規模な岩石・氷なだれおよび土石流・洪水災害について、衛星画像を用いた速報的な発生状況評価を行いました。

本速報では、災害の発生源から下流域に至るまでの地形変化や被災状況について、衛星画像を用いて把握・解析した結果を紹介しています。現時点で得られている知見を取りまとめ、今後の詳細な調査や災害対応に役立てることを目的として公開するものです。

また、本評価で作成したGISデータについては、今後の災害対応、救助、復旧・復興活動などに活用できるよう、提供することを予定しています。データの利用を希望される場合は、筆頭著者までお問い合わせください。

最後に、本災害によって被害を受けられたすべての方々に心よりお見舞い申し上げるとともに、犠牲となられた方々に深い哀悼の意を表します。

English Version

This research group, led by Associate Professor Ching-Ying Tsou of the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture and Life Science, Hirosaki University conducted a rapid assessment of the large-scale rock–ice avalanche and the subsequent debris flow and flash flood disaster that occurred in Nepal in 2026 using satellite imagery.

This preliminary report presents the results of an analysis of the disaster, including changes in the landscape and damage along the affected river corridor, from the source area to the downstream reaches. The findings currently available have been compiled and are presented here as preliminary information to support future detailed investigations and disaster response activities.

The GIS data produced through this assessment will also be made available to support future disaster response, rescue, recovery, and reconstruction activities. Those interested in using the data are kindly requested to contact the first author.

Finally, we extend our heartfelt sympathies to everyone affected by this disaster and express our deepest condolences to those who lost their lives and their families.
